“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a
second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Message from The Head Of School
HAPPY 2011
THIS IS THE YEAR OF ST. JOHN’S EPISCOPAL SCHOOL’S 60TH BIRTHDAY!!
We will begin the 2011 celebration with our “BLACK AND WHITE” themed annual auction. If you are new to St. John’s, you need to know that our annual auction is the most fun you can have spending money—plus it is deductible. We always have great items to bid on, wonderful food, and most of all fun with friends. Be sure you put Saturday, March 5th, on your calendar, and we are accepting donated items for the auction NOW!
Just think about the hundreds of students who have passed through these doors who are now successful adults. Here are some that you may know; Andy Magness, David Loudenback, Aimee Watson Hanneman, Natalee Martin Bandy, Alice Orwig Rodgers. We will be adding to our list of St. John’s celebrities as the year goes on.
If you asked the many students who have passed through these halls how they measure success, many would agree with Harry Emerson Fosdick: A Definition of Success—To laugh often and much; to win respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.
Thank you,
Kaye Nelson, Head of School

Girl Scout Troop 756 would like to thank the students, faculty, and parents of St. John’s for the wonderful donation of 372 cans, bottles, and boxes of food for our winter food drive! We are also proud to announce that St. John’s patrons also donated $185.22 toward the World Vision Fund, which provides livestock, mosquito netting, medicines, school supplies, clothing, and food for disaster areas and poverty-stricken regions of the world. Thank you, girls, for coordinating these efforts, and thank you, St. John’s, for your wonderful support!
