Girl Scouts Troop 756

at St. John’s Episcopal School

The Rededication, Investiture, and Bridge ceremony for Girl Scouts will be in Wade Dalton on September 28th 5:30.  This is a family event.  Girls need to wear a white polo shirt and their uniform vest or sash and hat if you purchased one.  For the girls who are bridging from Daisies to Brownies, they will wear their Daisy Vest/Sash and bring their Brownie Vest.  Parents, siblings, grandparents, and other important people are invited to be part of the ceremony.  It’s fun and makes Girl Scouts feel official for the girls.  We’ll have light refreshments as well.  I hope we’ll see you there!

We are excited about starting our new year of girl scouts!  This letter will provide important information and updates about our troop.  Many of our Daisies have bridged to Brownies! We will celebrate this at our Troop 756’s Bridging, Investiture and Rededication Ceremony is scheduled for September 28th, 5:30 pm, Wade Dalton Hall, St. John’s School.

The Daisies (grades K & 1st) and Brownies (grades 2nd & 3rd) Leaders are Deanne York, Jane Silovsky & Laura Cory. Daisies and Brownies will be meeting on possibly Wednesdays after school twice a month (calendar coming soon).  We will be start September 14th at St. Johns, in the basement.  We will be earning badges and patches, doing craft activities, going on field trips, and backyard camping this fall.

The Cadettes (grades 6-8th) Leader is Raegan Rethard. Cadettes will be meeting on DAY after school every week.  Cadettes will start in September.  Cadettes are mostly girl led.  At the first week, the girls will discuss which badges they want to work on, choose a fall service project, and discuss camping activities and High Adventure Team activity options.

To join or renew your membership, visit the website of the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma or  Or  Please join/renew before our first meeting.  This is required by the council and covers National fees and insurance.

Last year was the first year that we did not collect troop dues, and our budget was hit significantly.  The cookie sales were wonderful last year. We raised almost $2,000!  However, that was not enough to cover the expenses ($1100 badges/patches, $2300 supplies and activity costs).  We do not receive any monies from Girl Scouts, as your membership fee does not come to our troop.  This year the troop dues will be $50.  This can be paid in two installments of $25 if needed, the first one due September 30th, and the second due January 31st.  If a family needs a scholarship, please contact Raegan Rethard.  We do not want this fee to prohibit any girl from participating in scouts! This cost is still much lower than most child activities (e.g., gymnastics, art classes, etc.)
