Help Keep St. John’s Beautiful!
Saturday, May 5th St. John’s Church and School will be having a work day to spruce up our building and grounds. We will begin at 9am and are in need of volunteers to help complete the jobs needed to make St. John’s a great place for our children and Church patrons. Some of the jobs are:
Big Kitchen and Parish Hall – Clean and organize cabinets
Uniform Closet – Organize uniforms
Classrooms – Mount dry erase boards
Sidewalks – Power wash
Entry Property – Trash removal
Swing Sets – paint
Pre-school playground – remove existing sand
If you would like to help, please call the office and let them know. We appreciate all your effort in making St, John’s Beautiful.
Please click on the above link and make you choices. You can email it to jnorton@stjohnsokc.com or print it and bring it by the office.
Dear St. John’s Families,
St. John’s asks our families to volunteer parents to volunteer time, money or supplies as a part of their contractual obligation. The School Board and I have some suggestions that we would like to share with you to help you with your 30 hours of volunteer work for our school.
➢ Attendance to the Vestry’s Watermelon Welcome on August 16th
➢ Invite another family as well as your own to attend the Fall Carnival
➢ Attend Turkey Bingo – Donations for prizes are always welcome
➢ Ask your child’s teacher if there is anything that needs to be done in the classroom.
➢ Join PTO andattend the meetings
➢ Join us at Johnnie’s Night—3rd Tuesday of each month (even in the summer). The stores on Britton Road and NW Express sponsor us.
➢ Attend Open House and invite other families to join you!
➢ Donate a box of photocopy paper to the school office.
➢ Donate construction paper to your child’s classroom
➢ Inquire about supplies that might be needed for projects in your child’s classroom.
➢ Volunteer to mow and trim the play areas on a Satuday
➢ Attend Nino’s Night—2nd Tuesday of each month – NW Expressway
➢ Read to a class
I hope these ideas will help you find something you will be comfortable with when you volunteer for your school and your child. You may also pay $20 an hour for up to 10 hours, but your child loves to see you here at school and we can use your help whenever or whatever that may be. You are responsible to record your service hours in the record book that will be in the office. Thank you so much for all you do for St. John’s. All of our volunteers are such a blessing to us.
Thank you,
Joe Norton, Head of School
